WIP Owl cross stitch and colourwork knitting, making a scarf.

Hello everyone Happy New Year,

January is certainly here although the weather here in the UK is quite mild for this time of year, I am looking forward to the clock changing and lighter mornings.

Did you have a lovely Christmas I hope so it is nice to be with family if you can and I was spoiled with lovely gifts, including Hobby Craft vouchers Yay!

I have purchased fabric, threads, yarn and patterns with my gift vouchers. I needed more threads if you can believe that but it happens even though I have a fair stash and always try to substitute colours where I can there comes a time when you have to replace some.
This new WIP cross stitch I have started needed extra threads

stitching with 3 threads because it's on 12 count fabric.

The pattern is from CrossStitcher magazine and the designer is Lucie Heaton nice and bright full of colour just right for these grey days.

Even though you see me stitching more than knitting lately now and then I still like to bring out those needles and I still have plenty of yarn that needs using but I also cannot resist buying the odd ball when I see something I like.
So using DK yarn I have started this scarf/wrap knitting in colour work.

Using 2 colours in garter stitch

For the main colour I picked Aqua and CC in cream by WI Womens Institute premium acrylic from Hobbycraft

I picked the stitch pattern from this book I have

so good for using a project you want to make yourself the instructions I find easy to use and is good to practise your knitting skills.

Lastly here is some progress on the CC crochet blanket I started last year, it was going to be a blanket for my Grandson but I find now he dose not need one. So I will carry on with it rather than undo till the yarn runs out, if anything it with make an extra blanket for the bed or on the back of the sofa.

This is all my updates for now, you can check me out on Instagram and Revelry too using the links on the side of this blog.

Enjoy your weekend

bye for now
